Portraits of People and Pets
To honor a friend or family member's birthday, wedding, graduation, or a life well-lived, a personal portrait makes an incredible statement and celebration of a person’s life. And lets not forget our beloved pet companions. I work in watercolor and collage, and occasionally in acrylic, often combining all three, creating an image that captures a moment in time, or expresses an individual’s life story. Every item represents a part of the persons life and the onlooker can see the things that are important to the person represented. |

Family Trees
Hand-crafted family trees are a most appropriate way to honor a family's history. Respecting ancestors on whose shoulders we stand, celebrates a part of ourselves and enriches our present significantly. Displaying photos in this way gives us an opportunity to tell stories of the amazing people who made our own lives possible. We are each here because everyone of our ancestors survived, often they survived through harsh times, wars, persecutions, famine and emigration. Knowing this gives me encouragement and often deep feelings of gratitude. If you have a child getting married what a lovely gift this would make for the generation to come. |

Inspirational Art
This is where my art and spirituality merge as I listen for what I need to express. We each have unique gifts we need to offer the world, gifts that I see as part of the universal energy that we are. It is totally individual. What each of us gives, no one else can give in the same way. Everything we do matters. Colors affect moods and emotions. Art speaks to us on a deeper level than words. By choosing the colors and images that you are attracted to, you can correct imbalances in the body's internal energy and emotional patterns. I see these pieces that I create as healing and giving respite in a world of chaos. Past customers have spoken of how they bring something of beauty or meaning into the space they live, and often place them over an alter in their homes. |

Art Parties
Joan loves to share her art by leading groups in exploring their abilities. As one student said "She makes artists out of non-artists!" It is a very fun way to spent time with friends and family and learn something while you are laughing and enjoying the company. Group size works best at 10 participants.
